The Dagaz from Raptor Road, framed by jacaranda branches in lavender bloom — Westlands, Nairobi.
Raptor Road · Westlands · Nairobi · LR No. 1870/IV/237

The Dagaz

Buildings you recognise before you see the sign. Eighteen floors. Ninety-two residences. Petersen Tegl brick, Bulthaup kitchens, Vola fittings — every detail designed, not defaulted.

The Dagaz takes its name from the Old Norse rune for dawn — the moment of breakthrough between the long night and the working day. A residence here is the experience of things working exactly as they should: morning light enters as the architect intended, the door handle feels right in the hand for the ten-thousandth time, the breakfast table catches the canopy. Premium residential should deliver certainty, not aspiration. The Dagaz is our argument for what that means in Nairobi.

Why Westlands, why now

The address chose us before we chose the building.

Westlands is Nairobi’s diplomatic-and-commercial core. Within a fifteen-minute walk: UNON Gigiri, ABC Place, Sarit, Westgate, Village Market, three diplomatic missions, the deepest cluster of premium F&B in the city, and the new mass-rapid line on Waiyaki Way. Within a twenty-minute drive: JKIA, the National Park gate, the Karen edge, the Kiambu coffee belt.

The premium rental cohort here is real, established, and growing — UN and embassy staff on three-to-five-year postings, expatriate professionals on indefinite contracts, returning diaspora consolidating into a primary residence, and Nairobi families moving up from Kilimani and Lavington as those districts densify. Demand for new-build premium vertical stock outruns supply because the plot grain on Raptor Road and its surrounding lanes constrains the rate at which any of it can be added.

Architecture

Two slender wings, one carved crown, a planted arch down the middle.

The form draws from Scandinavian warm minimalism — generous proportions, layered daylight, honest materials — translated into Westlands’ climate and context. The mid-tower arches let the building breathe through its middle. The crown is signed in spaced serif caps and turns toward the city.

Eighteen floors on Raptor Road. Designed by Lars-Henrik Mortensen from our Nairobi studio, built by hands you can meet, certified by GEcon Africa — who do not work for us. The gap between promise and delivery should not exist.

The Jacaranda Life

A quiet crown above Westlands.
